This role, primarily located in Jersey City, will be to co-manage/manage US Business Continuity Planning and External Security (Inc. Travel Security and People Safety as well as interaction with external security organizations i.e. NYPD). The role will primarily report into the Global Head of Business Continuity (based in the UK) in partnership with a local US report line and will manage US BCP and security staff and consultants. The role could potentially manage one direct report (AVP) also based in Jersey City.
This role will be responsible for developing and managing business continuity, external security incidents and safety initiatives in the US (including offices in Canada) and work with the US team as a partner in physical asset security.
The role entails working closely with the different areas of the firm to understand relevant risks, conduct risk assessments, and to ensure Business Continuity plans are maintained and tested. This role will involve interaction and coordination with different industry groups and will also coordinate submissions to meet regulatory requirements and responses to regulatory inquiries on BCP and external security events. This role will also work closely with the firm’s Information Technology department and will oversee technology disaster recovery plans and tests. When an incident occurs that involves an external security events or business continuity, it is expected that this person will be responsive, flexible, and manage the situation. A key component of the role will be to implement and maintain security and safety practices, respond to incidents, and limit exposure in all areas of physical assets and safety.
Another element will be to develop and maintain professional relationships with national and local (New York) law enforcement, first responders, and other relevant government agencies also including Financial Groups specifically focused on BC (SIFMA etc..)
