Provide administrative and operational support to a team of Institutional Research Salespeople on a trading floor. Opportunity to learn the Institutional Research Sales role and progress to a junior sales position over time.
Answer client inquires via phone and email often with little to no guidance from managers, based on existing knowledge of client relationships
Schedule and host meetings and coordinating team activities
Answer high volume multi-line phone system
Maintain databases and files
Manage day-to-day activities
Prepare and submit expense reports using PeopleSoft Expense Management
Hours: 6:30 am to 5:30 pm
Time split: 70% admin, 30% client-facing
Desire to learn the equity business from the bottoms up at a fast growing investment bank/brokerage firm
Ability to prioritize time between admin tasks and learning equity research/sales business
Uses judgement and independence to make changes to schedules and matters
Follows-up to ensure completion of task/projects/client requests and meets critical deadlines
Ability to foresee problems and prevent them by taking action
Interacts professionally with clients and colleagues, responds promptly to requests accurately and with a courteous demeanor.
