Program Overview
The Summer Analyst program at MUFG has a reputation for providing college students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives.  In addition to the assigned projects, students are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and bank employees. These paid positions are full-time (40 hours/week during regular business hours) during the summer. The length of the summer program is 10 weeks and can extend beyond that time depending on business needs, project requirements, and student availability.
Position Description
This Summer Analyst position is with the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) department and is based in the New Jersey, Harborside office.  The chosen student will have an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the Enterprise Threat Intelligence team and its implementation to protect the Bank from cyber threats and vulnerability exposure.  Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) is responsible to acquire, review, assess and implement safeguards based on creditable cyber threats.  The position will assist in several responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Assist collecting and reviewing open source threat indicators of compromise (IoCs)
  • Provide assistance processing IoCs and evaluating threats
  • Assist evaluating Common Vulnerability Exposures (CVE) security releases and related patches
  • Work closely with the TVM and support teams to inform operations &  management
  • Learn industry cyber threat technologies and develop an understanding of enterprise security best practices
  • Automate and optimize routine TVM tasks and enhance metrics/reporting
  • The ideal candidate is a currently enrolled college student (rising senior or graduate level)
  • Generally a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Scheduled to complete degree requirements in December 2017 or May/June 2018
  • Computer Science degree preferred
  • Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects
  • Ability to review and collect Web-based information
  • Process driven
  • Excellent computer skills specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to synthesize ambiguous information
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects
