Private Equity Senior Associate

Firm Overview:

Cohesive is a private equity investment firm with an exclusive focus on co-investing alongside other high-quality sponsors to help them execute transactions that generally are too large for them to complete on their own.  Cohesive is currently investing out of Cohesive Capital Partners II, L.P., a 2015 vintage fund with $384 million in capital commitments.  The firm seeks to deploy $5-$25 million of equity per investment.  Cohesive targets investments with the following criteria:

-  Predominantly small and middle-market sized businesses

-  Mature or growth equity stage (no venture capital)

-  Primarily North American businesses

-  Open to investing across all sectors

The Cohesive investment team is current comprised of five investment professionals (three Partners, one Vice President, and one Senior Associate).  This Senior Associate position represents an exciting and unique opportunity to join a small and growing firm with an entrepreneurial culture.


Candidates will be expected to immediately assume significant amounts of responsibility, both evaluating prospective investment opportunities and building the firm.  Key responsibilities include:

-  Assist with all aspects of due diligence and execution of new investment opportunities.  This includes building and analyzing complex operating and LBO models, market and industry research, writing investment memorandums, and helping to negotiate legal documentation for the transaction

-  Monitoring existing portfolio investments, including quarterly valuation analysis

-  Assisting with other fund-related activities including sourcing of investment opportunities, fundraising, investor reporting, investor relations, and miscellaneous administrative functions

Start Date and Tenure:

The starting date for this position is flexible, but no later than summer 2017.


-  4 years of total work experience, including relevant experience at a top tier investment bank and in private equity or private credit.  Preference will be given to those candidates with directly analogous investing experience although outstanding individuals with other investing backgrounds would also be considered

-  Bachelor’s degree with a strong record of academic achievement

-  MBA not required

-  Curiosity and passion for investing

-  Exceptional understanding of finance and accounting concepts

-  Outstanding analytical, quantitative and modeling skills, including ability to quickly and accurately construct three statement models and sensitivity tables

-  Strong written and oral communication/interpersonal skills

-  Highly motivated, committed and ability to work independently

-  High level of interest in working with a small team in an entrepreneurial culture

-  U.S. work visa / authorization
