Group Description: 

Jefferies' Financial Institutions Group offers a full range of investment banking services to the financial services industry. Our diverse client base covers a broad spectrum of companies, including those in sectors such as Depositories, Specialty Finance, Insurance, Broker-Dealers and Exchanges.

Position:

The Financial Institutions Group is actively looking for an experienced Vice President covering Specialty Finance in our New York office. Specialty Finance sector coverage includes:  consumer finance; commercial finance and leasing companies; receivables management companies; on-line/technology enabled lenders; mortgage and auto finance companies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of equity and debt financings, M&A, and restructuring and recapitalization transactions.
  • Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow, pro-forma merger, precedent transactions, and comparable companies analyses.
  • Prepare pitch books and live deal materials, including offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, and public offering documents.
  • Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, as well as conduct due diligence.
  • Develop client relationships through deal execution and pitching.
  • These responsibilities afford direct and active interaction with the senior executive management teams of our clients.

Required Background and Desired Experience Skills:

  • Either (1) an MBA plus 2+ years of investment banking experience as an Associate or (ii) a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus 4+ years of investment banking or consulting experience; relevant advisory and specialty finance sector experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in FIG is mandatory; specifically, Specialty Finance is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Currently living in New York City, or willing to relocate.
