Jeffrey Leeds began his career in law, working in the corporate department of a New York-based law firm. After finishing up a clerkship for a federal judge, he found himself at a crossroads, needing to decide what he wanted to do with the rest of his professional life. It was at this time he was introduced to the world of finance. Jeffrey started working in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance at Lazard Frères & Co. After that, he took a leap of faith and co-founded his own private equity firm, Leeds Equity Partners, which focuses on the education, information services, and training industries. The firm’s advisory board now includes such prominent members as General Colin Powell and Timothy Shriver, Ph.D.
