Boon Sim grew up in Singapore and received a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Shortly after, he moved to the United States and earned an Engineering degree from MIT and subsequently a Master’s of Private and Public Management at Yale University. Boon began his career as a design engineer for Texas Instruments. His proficiency in technology landed him a job in the emerging tech division at The First Boston Corporation, a predecessor of Credit Suisse. Boon spent 20 years at Credit Suisse, serving as Head of Americas for the Mergers & Acquisitions Group, Co-Head of the firm’s Technology Group, and finally as the Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2012, Boon joined Temasek as President of the Americas. Temasek is an investment company owned by the Singapore government with a $223 billion portfolio. Boon has also served as an advisor to several Asian governments; he has been named a Justice of Peace by the President of Singapore, and he’s received a number of awards for his public service.
