Position Details

While the big deals often make the headlines, the middle market is where the vast majority of the action takes place. What is the middle market? It's where 90% of all M&A activity occurs worldwide. Harris Williams & Co. is the leading sellside M&A advisor focused exclusively on the middle market. This year, our firm was selected as Middle Market Investment Bank of the Year by IDD Magazine. The award follows on the heels of recognition by Buyouts Magazine as Investment Bank of the Year in 2005.

Additionally, our firm has been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Boston Business Journal, our transactions have consistently won top honors, most recently for the sale of Cushcraft Corporation to Laird Technologies in 2007, and a number of our professionals have been ranked in 40 Under 40 lists by several publications for their industry leadership.  Harris Williams & Co. is a member of The PNC Financial Services Group (NYSE: PNC), one of the country's largest financial institutions.  In 2007, PNC was named one of Fortune Magazine's Most Admired Companies.

Associates at Harris Williams & Co. play an integral role in every M&A assignment and are expected to be active contributors during every phase of the deal process.  The Associate role involves a high level of responsibility and the opportunity to learn from senior bankers and through hands-on experience.  Our Associates lead the writing and development of presentation materials and actively participate in drafting sessions and due diligence meetings.  Associates are also responsible for the integrity of the valuation analyses and financial models developed in concert with our Analysts.  Because our firm is devoted exclusively to middle market merger and acquisitions, each new professional is provided with a range of experiences across industries and with a variety of teams across the firm.

In addition to contributing to each transaction, we encourage our Associates to actively participate in our business development efforts by fostering relationships with private equity groups and active corporate players in the M&A community.  Our goal is to develop tomorrow's industry leaders.
Given our longstanding philosophy of promoting from within, we dedicate a great deal of effort to hire individuals who have a proven track record of performance excellence both in and out of the classroom.
