A premier global investment bank's Wealth Management division seeks exceptional individuals from diverse backgrounds to build long-term careers as Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs). PWAs develop and manage relationships with wealthy individuals and families. With the assistance of Goldman Sachs professionals who are expert in a wide variety of investment and non-investment disciplines, PWAs take a holistic approach to modern wealth management. They help their clients preserve, grow and transfer wealth with tax planning and investment strategies, including portfolio construction, tax efficient investing, asset allocation, liability management, estate planning, cash flow management and family philanthropy. PWAs are trusted advisors who understand their clients’ unique financial, professional, social and family goals and who use their access to all of Goldman Sachs’ resources to craft the means for clients to achieve their most important life objectives.
The firm offers a comprehensive training program for candidates without specific prior experience in a private wealth advisory role. This program builds on a candidate’s existing skills and knowledge and provides the necessary tools to become a successful PWA.
Principal PWA Responsibilities:
Ø Build and maintain trusted relationships with wealthy individuals and families and serve as the primary resource for integrated wealth management
Ø Assist clients in articulating their goals and creating long term strategic plans to achieve those objectives
Ø Harness the resources of Goldman Sachs to deliver best in class access and solutions to wealthy individuals and families
Ø Perform asset allocation and asset location for clients and prospects
Ø Monitor equity and fixed income markets to provide market color to clients and team members
Ø Engage the firm's Global Investment Research for the benefit of clients
Ø Keep up to date with current trends in the industry and market dynamics
Ø Supervise or execute equity, derivative, fixed income and fund trades
Ø Drive projects related to new business development, strategic planning, product development and other marketing infrastructure issues.
Position Requirements
Experience/Skills:
Ø History of outstanding academic achievement. MBA, JD, CFA or similar graduate degree or professional qualification strongly preferred.
Ø Excellent professional background in financial services, law, accounting, fundraising or related disciplines (minimum of 3 years’ experience following graduate degree)
Ø Strong client orientation, combined with solid commercial and entrepreneurial instincts
Ø Strong quantitative and organizational skill set
Ø Excellent communication skills
Ø Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
Ø Series 7 and 63 registration required (to be acquired within 6 months of joining)
