Description
The Sourcing Manager role reports into Team Leader for the designated spend category. The Sourcing Manager has two key roles, one to manage/support category specific sourcing initiatives and two, to support the post contract supplier management of critical suppliers in line with the firm’s Sourcing and Supplier Management Policy. The key Technology Categories that are currently supported are Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, IT Services.

Main Function
• Manage commercial negotiations with relevant software suppliers and liaise with legal to ensure favourable commercial terms which mitigate business risk. Negotiations will be for all parts of Barclays requiring software services
• Support Team Leaders and Category Managers with the day to day management of key stakeholders
 
Main Duties
Work with the Team Leaders, Category Managers and key Business Users to optimise supplier costs whilst enabling the business to maintain appropriate service levels and minimise risk.
Support IT managers in all their commercial requirements from identification of business need to contract signature.
• Lead commercial negotiations with relevant Software suppliers to ensure Barclays receive best value for money and associated cost savings.
• Develop issue and manage RFIs and RFPs as appropriate to find the best sourcing solution that meets business and commercial requirements.
• Liaise with legal for the negotiation of large agreements to ensure favourable commercial terms. Mitigation of business risk and robust ongoing SLA’s.
• Proactively seek savings opportunities across Software spend, negotiate and report in the appropriate format
• Support the Software Team Leader, Category manager and Relationship Managers and Vendor Managers in the active management of strategic suppliers, including ongoing vendor rating and periodic commercial review meetings.
• Input own agreements, service details and payment forecasts onto a Contracts Database and maintain all other systems as appropriate.
• There is a genuine global dimension to the remit as well as substantial autonomy and responsibility. The jobholder will be interacting at senior level both internally and externally and must possess relevant interpersonal skills.
• IT within Barclays is a very fast paced and highly motivated team, for this reason the customer base is very demanding so the role must be held by someone who is able to deal with pressure and works at a pace

Qualifications /education - Essential:
Degree + Relevant post-graduate or professional qualification

Qualifications /education - Preferred:
Degree and CIPS

Experience required - Essential:
Minimum 7 years work experience of which at least 5 years should be in Sourcing within a reputable     international company

Exerience required - Preferred:
Practical training in a reputable blue chip or consulting approach to Strategic Sourcing and process design

Skills and knowledge - Essential:
• Senior stakeholder management
• Supply market research skills
• Sourcing and supplier management process skills
• Proven knowledge of IT sourcing (specifically within the Software Category:  Application and desktop, midrange and mainframe, front office and banking software)
• Experience in managing and negotiating with key software vendors
